Sir,
In compliance with instructions contained in
Mr. Chamberlain's Despatch No. 294 of the 12th. December, 1895, I have the honour to inform you that subject to your approval I propose to issue Crow Lenses to the Peak Tramway Company for Inland Lots Nos. 1333, 1334, 1335, 1353 and 2233 of areas of about 665, 888, 853, 3757 and 1247 square feet respectively which are used as intermediate stations on the Peak Tramway.
2. The next occasion on which the Government can require the Peak Tramway Company to dispose of its undertaking, under Section 12(1) of the Peak Tramway Ordinace of 1883 is
the 2nd. November, 1918 and thereafter at 7 years' intervals. Purchase is at present out of the question but it is desirable that the matter should be kept open for reconsideration in the future. It is proposed therefore to issue Crown Leases for these Inland Lots for a period of 9 years from the 25th. De- -camber, 1916, at a rental of 85 in each case. The question of purchase therefore will be open for consideration in 1925.
3. An auction of the areas concerned is impossible
in view of their position md of the restriction of user em- -bodied in the lease. Their use is defined as solely for the
purposes
היי !
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
